This index is based on the electronic catalog of foreign-language publications. Russia designated 2017 as the Year of Ecology and the Year of Specially Protected Natural Areas. The index was compiled to meet the information and bibliographic needs of researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students seeking original literature on ecology for scientific, research, and educational purposes. The collection of English-language literature on ecology is the most extensive, comprising 37 titles; these books were published between the 1970s and the 1990s.
