Description
Geoecology is a young, emerging field at the intersection of ecology and geography; according to the authors, it studies the natural environment (the lithosphere, hydrosphere, geospace—comprising the atmosphere, ionosphere, and magnetosphere—biosphere, and landscape sphere) by taking into account the natural and anthropogenic processes occurring within them. Attention is also paid to issues regarding human interaction with the environment and to constraints affecting the global population.
